L’HOTEL DUE TORRI sorge all’interno di un edificio che già nel lontano 1518 ospitava viaggiatori con il nome di locanda “DELLA CAMPANA”. Un’antica protome leonina sull’angolo del palazzo evoca il piccolo vicolo ma anche il nome di alcuni cardinali divenuti poi pontefici che qui risiedevano nei secoli scorsi. L’albergo conta poche camere e offre ambienti di grande fascino e raffinatezza. Mobili di buon antiquariato (fra cui uno splendido secretaire all’ingresso), stucchi dipinti, appliques dorate e acquarelli con vedute di Roma. Le camere all’ultimo piano hanno ciascuna un caratteristico terrazzo. La proprietà è la stessa del Fontanella Borghese.
The Due Torri was constructed inside a building that, as early as 1580, hosted travelers under the name “LOCANDA DELLA CAMPANA. An old sculpture of a lion’s head on the corner of the building evokes the name of this tiny alleyway, but also that of some cardinals who later became popes, and who lived here in past centuries. The hotel has only a few rooms and a refined and charming atmosphere. Good antiques furniture (including a splendid secretaire in the entrance), painted stuccos, gilded appliqués and water-colour view of Rome, Some rooms at the very top floor have a small terrace.
Dalla guida “CHARMING SMALL HOTEL”
This stylish little hotel in a quiet, cobbled lane just north of Piazza Navona is a real discovery. The newly painted façade offers a foretaste of the neat interior where the spacious area leads into a series of comfortable public rooms. Marble floors gleam and provide a suitable setting for some lovely antiques while chairs and sofas are upholstered in red velvet or smart red and beige, a colour scheme which is continued throughout the house. There are some fine antique mirrors (including a huge one on each landing), old lamps and attractive prints, all of which are offset by cool, cream walks.
The bedrooms (each with its own brass doorknocker) are arranged on five floors and reached by an elegant marble staircase with fin de siècle iron banister (or there’s a lift). None of them are very large (one or two are, in fact, quite small), but all are pretty and comfortable. Bedheads valances, curtains and bedcovers are all in co-ordinated read and beige; attractive but never fussy. Some rooms have great views over rooftops and terraces, excellent for an inside glimpse of Roman domestic life. Four - including a single – have a terraces equipped with tables and chairs

An excellent centro storico choice is the DUE TORRI, a charming traditional hotel on a quiet lane. The higher your room, the better; fourth floor rooms have balconies, fifth floor roms have terraces.

Eccoci nel cuore di Roma siamo a pochi passi da Piazza Navona, Via del Corso, Piazza di Spagna, il Pantheon, il Vaticano ed il Parlamento insomma siamo nel cuore politico, religioso e artistico della Città Eterna. In uno dei caratteristici vicoli si trova la struttura dell’Hotel Due Torri, appena entriamo l’atmosfera che si percepisce è quella di antiche residenze di porporati e non è un caso se anche gli arredi ed i colori (il rosso porpora) confermano che qui hanno risieduto vescovi e cardinali. Già agli inizi del Cinquecento qui aveva sede la locanda “della Campana” a conferma che il luogo è sempre stato deputato all’accoglienza. Le camere sobrie e ristrutturate nel rispetto del suo passato, mantengono tradizione e confort. Una bella sala colazioni dove prendere la giusta caria al risveglio magari facendoci raccontare dal personale la leggenda legata alla vicina Torre della Scimmia sulla quale svetta sempre illuminata la statua di una Madonna

My wife and I stayed in the small three-star HOTEL DUE TORRI, on the corner of two tiny old streets between the Tiber and the Piazza Navona. It was friendly and quiet, had lots of good umbrellas and served breakfast till 11.It has once been a home for bishops and cardinals. Our room had a view over a narrow cobbled lane to a roof garden festooned with washing. What more could one want?

A hidden gem situated at the western end of Via dei Condotti, with 26 rooms decorated in claret and yellow. The furniture is all antique and rooms at the top have magnificent views. The best feature however is the proprietor the glamorous, attentive Cinzia, who goes out of her way to ensure that guest enjoy both her hotel and her city.

La posizione è davvero spettacolare; nel cuore della città, 5 minuti a piedi dal Pantheon e da piazza Navona, 10 minuti da piazza di Spagna. Il Due Torri è un piccolo albergo ospitato in un palazzotto ottocentesco dalla facciata rosso pompeiano, residenza di vescovi e cardinali, che si affaccia su una stretta via immersa nel silenzio. Solo i residenti della zona si avventurano nel labirinto di antiche stradine dove non si può parcheggiare. L’hotel è stato ristrutturato con grande gusto; le parti comuni e le camere sono accoglienti, con parquet, arredate con mobili dell’Ottocento e tessuti italiani dai toni caldi. Le stanze più belle, come la 503 e 4, hanno un terrazzo privato ombreggiato da rampicanti con vista a 180 gradi sui tetti di Roma. La colazione, a base di cereali, succhi di frutta, yogurt, è servita nella sala a pianterreno. Gli ospiti possono utilizzare il garage, a pochi metri, a pagamento.

Tucked in a lane between the Piazza Navona and the Tiber, the Hotel Due Torri has 26 small but air-conditioned rooms. Those on the top floor are smaller still, sacrificing square footage to enchanting terraces built for two – an attractive bargain. Given the central location, this well-tended hotel is surprisingly quiet-. If only one could raise one’s elbows in the shower.

Around the corner from the monkey tower on the Via dei Portoghesi, this 26 room hotel provides a good buffet breakfast, plenty of help with reservations and directions, and plain airconditioned rooms with well-stocked mini-bars and large bathrooms (including hair-dryer).
